Call for Councillors

WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE A PARISH COUNCILLOR AND HELP TO MAKE THE PARISH OF BEWERLEY A BETTER PLACE TO LIVE?

Bewerley Parish Council serves the 600+ parishioners of Bewerley and Greenhow and consists of 9 seats. With the help of the parish clerk, the Council manages an annual budget of around £12,000 which provides funding for various projects in the area.

All planning applications within its boundaries come to the Council for consideration and this also provides an opportunity for parishioners to petition the council with their views on planning matters.

There is regular liaison with our neighbours on Pateley Bridge Town Council, and our representatives on Harrogate Borough and North Yorkshire County Councils attend our meetings to provide feedback and to share information.

With the advent of the new North Yorkshire Unitary Authority and the subsequent abolition of Harrogate Borough Council, it will become even more important that parish councils are truly representative of the communities they exist to serve.

Being a councillor offers an opportunity to get more involved in the community and Bewerley Parish Council welcomes any parishioner who wishes to nominate themselves for election.

If you are interested, please view the Notice of Election for details of the process and timescales for submitting nominations.
